Memorial Day Weekend Schedule
Come kick-off your 2011 camping season at Ed Allen’s Campground. Join us to celebrate Memorial Day weekend with fun for the whole family. Whether you decide to enter our cornhole/horseshoe tournament, play in our new bounce house, cookout, land a big fish, or just kick back and enjoy live entertainment; there is something for everyone.
Saturday, May 28th, 2011:
8:00 a.m. – Big Fish of the Weekend starts
12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.: Horseshoe Tournament
4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.: Volleyball Tournament
7:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.: Live Entertainment, Southern Exposure Band.
Events for the kids:
10:00-12:00 p.m. Kid’s Fishing Tournament Calling all fishing experts! Show off your skills and become the Tourney Champ! Ages 3 & up. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
1:00-2:00 p.m. Tie-Dye T-Shirt Join us to make a groovy tie dye tee! We’ll teach you how to make cool designs. Pick from bright summer colors! $8/shirt.
3:00-4:00 p.m. Bingo Don’t miss out on an old time family favorite game. Be the first one to yell “BINGO!”
3:00-5:00 p.m. Bounce House Come bounce around in Ed Allen’s Bounce House
5:00-5:30 p.m. Ice Cream Floats Come join us at the rec hall to make a Float – “soda fountain” style!
$2.00/float. 8:00-8:30 Piñata Come try your luck and break the piñata for the candy.
Sunday, May 29th, 2011:
12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.: Cornhole Tournament
5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.: Cookout. You bring the drinks, we’ll provide the burgers and hotdogs.
6:30 p.m.: Big Fish of the Weekend ends.
7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.: Live Entertainment, Dodge City Country Band.

10:00-12:00 p.m. Kid’s Scavenger Hunt
Come explore all of Ed Allen’s during our scavenger hunt! We promise that you will see new sights and have a great time!
12:00-1:00 p.m. Arts & Crafts
Join us to create a variety of arts and crafts. Whether you are a wonderful artist or a beginner, there will something for everyone! $2/child
2:00-3:30 p.m. Sundaes on Sunday
What is better than a sundae with all of the toppings? Join us to build you sundae!
5:00-6:30 p.m. Movie Night
Come join us at the rec hall to watch a good movie and enjoy some popcorn!

Ed Allen’s Campground Under 3rd Generation Management!
Ed Allen’s Campground is located on land which has been in the Allen family since the 1930s. Ed Allen Sr. and his wife Louise opened up the property to the public in the 1950s, so that others could enjoy the peaceful beauty and wildlife around the Chickahominy Lake. Ed and Louise passed down the throne to their daughter Debra Allen Ward in the early 90s. Debra managed the campground for over 20 years and now has continued the family tradition of passing down the business to her son, Brock Allen Ward, who will carry on the tradition of sharing the best of nature in a family-style setting.
