Capt. Art Conway of Conway’s River Rat Guide Service (804-746-2475) out of Ed Allen’s Boats and Bait reported that Chickahominy Lake mid-day water temperatures were in the high 40’s in the main lake on Monday (11/25/2013). Mixed sizes of bluegill and shellcrackers were scattered in some channels in the main lake and were hitting small Gulp baits on dropshot rigs, small tubes and jigs, small blade baits, and live worms. A few bass, pickerel, bowfins, and blue cats were in some channels and channel edges and were hitting live minnows and blade baits.
Fishing with Capt. Conway, Capt. Bill Buck had 43 crappie, 2 white perch, 1 pickerel, and 6 bass. Mickey Cleveland had 29 crappie, 1 white perch, and 4 bass. Karen Anderson and Carolyn Conway had 20 crappie and 1 bass.
